Two Talks. One Voice.
I speak two languages fluently: the language of leadership and the language of breaking free. Whether I’m working with your team to address conflict before the explosion, or standing in front of a room of women who are ready to take up space, it’s the same work underneath. I’m helping people see each other’s humanity and connect on what they have in common. Pick the room you need me in. I’ll bring my whole self and the wisdom that comes from living though it and learning from it.
In the spring of 2026 our community organizing group hosted a women’s history event. Chris agreed to give the keynote workshop called Taking Up Space. The room was filled with women from vastly different backgrounds and roles. Chris created an atmosphere that put everyone at ease and gave them a safe space in which they could actively participate. She incorporated humor, compassion, and storytelling that drew people in to a delicate subject matter and left everyone feeling seen, heard, and hopeful about moving into the practice of taking up space in their own lives. It was the perfect balance of information, connection, and active participation—which is even more impressive given that it was the first run of the program. Chris is a masterful speaker and storyteller and we would highly recommend her to others looking for someone to deliver relevant, inspiring, and empowerment based content.
How many times have you been told you were too big for your britches?
Women are socialized to stay small and quiet in a world that demands big and loud, to be noticed. Let’s challenge the ways we show up, and explore more meaningful avenues that bring greater fulfillment and increased satisfaction. Our foremothers would want us to choose paths that don’t girdle our passions, but allow for free expression and discovery. Then they would want us to pass that empowerment on to our daughters.
- Your value is constant.
- Your value doesn’t fluctuate with other people’s opinions.
- Your value is still there even when you can’t see it.
- Your worth remains the same, it’s the recognition of it that changes.
- Moving through the world with the confidence that no one can diminish your worth frees you to break the habits of begging for love and conforming for acceptance.
- Learn to address conflict before you explode, because you’ve held your frustration in too long.
- Practice sitting with the discomfort of not performing for others.
- Construct boundaries that inform your consent. If there’s no possibility for you to say no, there is not true yes.
- Give yourself grace instead of shame when you realize you never consented to wearing britches that were too small for you. Once we know better, we do better.
- Recognize that you’re safe now to act in your own best interest.
- Honor your lived experience as all the credentials you need to speak and live your truth.
- Trust that you are the authority on your own life.
- Live with your elbows out because you are entitled to occupy the space you’re in.
- Feel inspired to hold the door open for the women who come after you, and don’t yet have access to leadership opportunities.
- Implement systems that invite women into business and social action committees because Empowered Women Empower Women.
- Recognize that the strength of women’s spaces is collaborative inclusivity, rather than competitive elitism.
Your team will struggle to address conflict until they feel safe enough to connect with each other’s humanity. How much has your org wasted by skipping this step?

I teach these 3 practical tools with humor and candor.
I don’t teach this from theory. I’ve lived on every side of unsafe conflict and come out the other side able to teach people how to do things differently:
